Offline registration for the 2026 Chardham Yatra officially began on April 17 at transit camps in Rishikesh and Haridwar, with 2,713 pilgrims registering on the first day alone.
Authorities have established 30 registration counters at the Rishikesh Transit Camp and ISBT, operating in multiple shifts with high-resolution CCTV and improved queue management to handle the influx.
Combined with online registrations that began in March, the total number of enrolled pilgrims has already reached 18.41 lakh (1.84 million) ahead of the official start date.
The pilgrimage officially begins on April 19 (Akshaya Tritiya) with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri portals, followed by Kedarnath on April 22 and Badrinath on April 23.
