The 213-km, six-lane access-controlled expressway officially cuts the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from over 6 hours to just 2.5 hours.
A standout feature of the ₹12,000 crore project is the 12-km elevated wildlife corridor through Rajaji National Park, designed with widely spaced pillars and sound barriers to allow safe animal movement underneath.
The route starts at Akshardham in Delhi and passes through key districts including Baghpat, Shamli, and Saharanpur, with a dedicated spur providing faster access to Haridwar and Roorkee.
The "Economic Corridor" features 14 wayside amenities (food courts, EV charging, trauma centers), advanced traffic management systems, and the 340-meter Daat Kali tunnel to bypass difficult hill terrain.
