Class 3 Student Allegedly Attacks Six-Year-Old Special-Needs Girl with Stones and Flowerpot at Panchkula School
A six-year-old kindergarten girl is undergoing treatment at PGIMER, Chandigarh, after she was allegedly assaulted by an eight-year-old Class 3 student inside Sanskriti Model School in Sector 20, Panchkula. The incident took place on Wednesday, October 28, and came to public attention only after CCTV footage began circulating. According to reports, the girl, who is said to have special needs, was dragged into a classroom, where the boy allegedly banged her head against a desk and repeatedly kicked and hit her. He then allegedly attacked her with stones and a flowerpot. Reports say the assault continued even after she lost consciousness. The incident came to light when the girl’s family arrived at the school looking for her. Her uncle, Faisal, said the accused boy himself told them she was upstairs and led them to where she lay injured. The family has alleged that she was also struck with a brick. She was first taken to Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, and then referred to PGIMER Chandigarh because of the severity of her injuries. Reports published on Saturday described her condition as critical, while some later reports described it as stable. The family has questioned how the attack went unnoticed despite CCTV cameras in the classroom, which are monitored from the principal’s office. “Had someone been sitting in the office and noticed the boy taking the girl upstairs, perhaps this incident would not have happened,” the uncle said. Police have said they are questioning the school management and the boy’s parents, and are examining the school’s supervision arrangements and CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events. The boy is undergoing a medical assessment to determine his understanding of the act. The motive has not been established. The case has renewed concerns about supervision and safety of young children in schools. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues. I can add them as clearly attributed allegations if you want. I can also put this in a doc, or adjust the tone and length for your publication.
