Uttarakhand: Information about the driver of the Champion vehicle will be sought; the RTO becomes strict after finding pending overspeeding challans.
The RTO has taken a strict stance after discovering four pending overspeeding challans against former MLA Pranav Singh Champion’s car in Uttarakhand. The department has prepared a notice, which will be sent to Champion. The transport department has tightened its approach regarding the overdue overspeeding challans linked to former MLA Champion’s vehicle. On Wednesday, the department will send him a notice demanding details. The notice will require submission of the driving licence of the person who was behind the wheel at the time of the criminal incident. It is noteworthy that on the night of November 14, a dispute erupted between Champion’s son, Divya Pratap Singh, and the son of former Chief Secretary S. Ramaswamy, Yashovardhan. The conflict started when Yashovardhan did not give way for Divya Pratap’s car to overtake. Divya Pratap then stopped him and physically assaulted him. A police case was registered in connection with the incident. The car used by Divya Pratap to attempt the overtaking has received 19 challans across Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Haryana, 18 of which are for overspeeding. Four of these were issued in Uttarakhand. Notice to be sent to Champion The transport department is firm regarding the challans issued within Uttarakhand. Officials stated that a notice was prepared on Tuesday and will be dispatched to Champion on Wednesday. Copies of all pending challans will be attached. The notice asks Champion to provide the name of the person who was driving the car at the time the traffic rules were violated. He must submit this information in writing along with the driving licence of the concerned driver.
