The Lok Sabha Secretariat sent a formal invitation to the late Manorama Dobriyal Sharma, inviting her to contribute to a discussion and a new book documenting the contributions of female parliamentarians.
Manorama Dobriyal Sharma passed away on February 18, 2015. The invitation letter, signed by Joint Secretary Jyotsnamayi Sinha, was dated March 20, 2026, marking a gap of over 11 years since her demise.
Her son, Vivek Sharma Dobriyal, expressed shock and criticized the move as a major administrative lapse. He sarcastically commented that he would ask his mother's spirit to visit the Secretariat to "bestow some wisdom" upon the officials.
The letter sought an original article for an updated version of a 1993 book that highlights the role of women in Parliament, intended to document and appreciate their historical contributions.
